Day 1: Arrive in Denver
Day 2: Denver – Silverthorne
Today is the beginning of a motorcycle tour you will remember forever. We will be on the best motorcycle roads and vistas that Colorado has to offer. After taking possession of our motorcycles we will ride along the beautiful “Peak to Peak Scenic Byway” to Estes Park where we will enter Rocky Mountain National Park. The majestic mountains, tundra wildflowers, abundant wildlife, Trail Ridge Road (the highest paved road in the USA) are spectacular. After an overload of our senses we will arrive in Silverthorne. There, we will find plenty of restaurants and bars to have a fun time in the evening.
Day 3: Silverthorne – Ouray
Our ride will lead us by Copper Mountain (a great ski area), Leadville along several collegiate 14ners to Gunnison and Ouray our destination. Today’s 290 mile ride is a lot of fun because of sweeping curves and beautiful views along the way. Ouray offers many cuisine options and is famous for its Hot Springs Pool where you can rejuvenate yourself.
Day 4: Ouray – Million Dollar Highway – Ouray
Our goal today is to ride the 236 mile San Juan Skyway, which is a MUST ride. This byway forms a loop which includes the “Million Dollar Highway”, maybe the most beautiful road in America, Silverton, a town that will take you back to the time when trains brought visitors and miners to the area, complete with saloons and even stagecoach rides, Durango and Telluride, a rowdy mining camp that became a town in 1878, then back to Ouray.
Day 5: Ouray – Glenwood Springs
Today’s ride will take us to Glenwood Springs. The city has seen famous visitors, including President Teddy Roosevelt, Doc Holiday and now us. It has the largest hot springs pool which is always a pleasure to visit. Our route will take us by the “Black Canyon of the Gunnison” on a very winding road past Crawford, the ranch where Joe Cocker lived is here and then from Carbondale to Glenwood Springs. Your motorcycle skills will be tested.
Day 6: Glenwood Springs -Independence Pass – Denver
Our final day on the motorcycle will be nothing short of exciting and on the end of the day I bet you will say,” WOW what a trip.” To start out we will head up Independence Pass and down past Mt. Elbert, the highest mountain in Colorado with 14433 feet. We will pass Buena Vista and head towards Woodland Park. The grand finale of this tour is my favorite ride, close to Denver and the perfect finishing touch of a great motorcycle tour. On our last evening together we will celebrate the completion of our great motorcycle tour.
Day 7: Leaving Denver
